Look of the Day

December 28th

This is what I wore today. I find I'm gradually digging out more and more winter clothes and getting excited about it because I have almost forgotten what has been shoved away in drawers for months! These are a few pieces that I found when I was rummaging through my clothes last night and promised myself I would make an outfit from today.

But - to start off I want to share my make up look with you... I will do a post about this in more detail soon!
This has to be my staple Winter make up look. On my eyes I've done a subtle brown smokey eye with winged liner and lots of mascara. Lips is a purpley berry shade, great for with the eyes. And I'm loving the contoured face look so I use bronzer under my cheekbones, and pop! That's my make up.

As for the outfit - today was quite a cold and wintery day to I felt I had to layer it up. Layers look so pretty anytime, and so here's my take on it.

Classically Tartan

Boxing Day

A late Merry Christmas and a happy Boxing day too! Hope you guys had a wonderful time with family, friends, or whatever you were up up. My Christmas was a quiet one with my family and a fab chance to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

I was given this beautiful bag from my sister. Totally obsessed with tartan patterns at the moment and seeing as this one is slightly different with the yellow, brown and cream shades I instantly fell in love with this piece. Really liking the size of this one as well and think it will be great for college.
For Today I wore it with my beige wedges and fur coat for a more classy look, but I think it would look amazing with more casual or country-style wear as well.
Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Festive photographs...

December 21st

This post isn't exactly beauty-related but I simply wanted to share with you some of my photographs of the festive season.

One of my favourite things at this time of year is putting up our decorations and seeing the beautiful lights around the shops.

Seeing all the shops with their trees up, decorated and getting into the festive spirit. What I love doing is browsing the shops full of wintery fashion while taking a break from my Christmas shopping. A coffee stop with friends always goes down a treat, today we went to a coffee shop called Henry's which has to be one of my favourites, all coszied up in a cafe whilst having a good old chit chat.

Little gifts that mean the world

I wanted to share with you my adorable little pink scooter which I decorated with tinsel and teddies for a charity ride I did at the start of the month. Love it to bits.
I hope you found these photos interesting and hope you're feeling all Christmassy this year.

Merry Christmas everyone!

New mini Look book

December 19th

Here are a few outfits I put together...they are not particularly for winter time but I wanted to share with you guys a couple of pieces I have in my clothes collection for the fun of it

Yesterday while I was doing a bit of Christmas shopping I popped into Primark and picked up a couple of things. One being this cute little pink top for only £3.50! I think it's just adorable and very versatile.
I few weeks ago I invested in a sewing machine which I made these floral shorts with. The shorts were previously a knee-length skirt from Matalan which was too big for me so I thought...I might as well try and make something wearable as I just loved the skirt's pattern.

Second look I wanted to show you 2 other things I bought yesterday. The little crop top was only £2 in the sale, it's long sleeved and very simple but you can easily jazz it up with accessories. I teamed it with my new checked cardi and thought the red of the top really complimented the pattern of the cardi (which is so cozy by the way) I'm wearing it while writing this and it's keeping me very warm.

Pink Top
Checked Cardigan
Crop Top
Disco Pants
White shoes
- All from Primark

Winter wear

Warm in the cold...

Jumpers and cardis are perfect winter wear and a reason to look forward to the chilly weather. I absolutely love pulling out my cozy clothes from the wardrobe and wrapping up, and I feel the cold pretty badly so maybe it's just as well! I've teamed these jumpers with my disco pants because those babies pretty much go with everything...
This jumper above is from Select, it's lovely and easy to wear. Love the little studs around the shoulder too, think it gives it some needed bling. And to stay extra cozy you can add a parka jacket. Mine is from New Look and was about £40.

This one is very very warm and super soft. I bought this in the sale at New Look and have had it for about a year now and still liking it very much. I think the design is so pretty, although, it may be one of those 'love it or hate it' patterns. Also it's burgundy and I have an obsession with that colour, I think it's beautiful and such a good shade for this season.

Boots are a MUST for winter in my opinion! My wedges are from New Look, but I actually found them in a charity shop for about £7 - they've lasted me well and paired with a pair of fluffy socks they are nice and toasty. The heels are from F&F at Tesco and they were around £25 I think. Love them to bits, they are so classy and the studs at the back add a little extra something.

This last jumper I actually made. Knitted it in Aran wool so it's nice and chucky and very cozy. The wool is navy and also has flecks of green through it which I think softens it a lot and allows it to be more wearable with other things, so I added my green parka again (best coat I've ever had!) Making your own clothes is so fun and satisfying to see the finished result so don't be afraid to try!

I just had to shout about these as well...my disco pants. I bought these a few days ago from Primark for only £5 - what a bargain! I can see myself wearing these a lot this winter.....

Big thumbs up for Winter wear and chunky jumpers! Anything has the ability to look glam.

Nailed it

nailed it

Another Friday morning in college called for another practice of manicures, not a bad way to spend time in education, in my opinion! Got all my work finished off before we come off for the Christmas Holidays (I have to smile every time I mention Christmas)

Totally love this 'Matte Suede' effect from Revlon it's absolutely gorgeous. This polish looks fantastic with just a couple of coats on it's own without a top coat (or a matte top coat) but today I ended up using a glossy top coat, which I think looks beautiful as well... so it is the best of both! This colour is in Emerald City.

The finished result of the whole manicure. See how the colour looks lovely all shiney as well? A perfect shade for this time of year!

An old favourite

an old favourite...

We can say it a million times, this a look that will never ever go out of fashion or be known as 'last season's trend'. It's the elegant red lip. It cheers me up every time I see ladles weaing this statement colour these days because it just shouts out retro and class The one in the photographs is an Avon lipstick in the colour Red Reveal and I must say it's extremely smooth and easy to apply.

I applied this using a red lip liner first to keep the colour in place throughout the day. With a bit of TLC it can last and last even, after all those warming cups of hot chocolate we need at this time of year (one of the perks of a cold Winter!)

A beautiful red lipstick is a make up piece which every girl ought to possess. So elegant, eye catching and a boost of confidence!

New to the world of bloggers!

A blog for the beauty obsessed, consisting of all things make up, fashion and lifestyle to share and inspire...

My name is Ellen, I'm a beauty student and my passion in life is beauty, make up, fashion, lifestyle and all things lovely and beautiful and I want to share part of my world of these things with you by starting my own blog. I have been inspired recently though other beauty blogs online and one of me favourite ways to pass the time is reading though them and watching make up videos. The internet is a wonderful place to learn new tips and tricks on what you love. If you have the same obsessions with make up, beauty and the little things in life that cheer us up I hope you will find my blog posts interesting and inspiring and I hope you'll enjoy reading what I write. I will try to post up often with some favourites, reviews and other little bits and bobs. Enjoy!

A certain Audrey Hepburn once said "I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls" - I completely agree and believe we should make the most of what we've got.
