Birthday Boots

Holographic!

The last week or so has been hectic with everything like college, work and also my 18th Birthday. Continuing on the birthday scene I thought I'd do a little (long over-due) post for you to show you the stunning new boots I got from my family. I fell in love with these as soon as I seen them on the Boohoo.com website and I told myself if I got them, it wouldn't be one of those items of clothing that sit in the bottom of your wardrobe because you can't think of what to wear them with...(or if you haven't yet built up the confidence to wear something out of your comfort zone!) I wore these babies for the first time today and I'm glad to say I love them just as much as first look.

So what do you think...a yay or a nay for these holographic heels?

Naked 2 Smokey Eye

Evening/Party look

Last week in college we had some free time so I asked my classmate Kimberley if I could practice a smokey eye on her. She brought in her Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which I was pretty excited to use as I have actually never used it before or tried out the shades (I must be the only one!) The shades are so pretty and the ones I used included Tease, Busted and Bootycall which all seemed to really compliment Kim's greenish eye colour.

The darkest shades I used nearest the outer edge of the eye, using the lightest to highlight the brow bone and inner corner. I used black liquid liner, adding a flick at the end and I couldn't resist using a nice pair of false lashes, they make the world of difference!

I did a full face for the rest of the make up which included;
-filling in the eyebows
-foundation
-powdering
-contouring the cheeks and nose
-highlighting cheekbones and the T-zone
-finished with a nude lip to let the eyes do the talking!

I grown to love taking before and after photos, you can really see the change and it's quite satisfying seeing the end result of your work. Hope you like the look...smokey eyes are a dream to practice and play around with!

Barbara Daly 5 Piece Brush Set

Another Beauty Buy

I've been having a bit of an obsession with make up brushes recently and have been trying to increase my collection over the past few weeks. My latest buy is this Barbara Daly brush set which I picked up for only £3.67 at Tesco (I thought, that's amazing) so I had a browse online after buying these and found out they are actually £14.70 on the Tesco website which seemed a bit more reasonable ?? I'm a bit confused by this and think there must be a mistake there somewhere. But I'm not complaining about the bargain I picked up anyway!

The set includes a powder, foundation, eye shadow, lip/concealer and eyebrow brush which all seem to be fab quality. My personal favourite being the powder brush which is so soft and fluffy.

Barbara Daly Powder Brush

Barbara Daly Foundation Brush

Barbara Daly Eye Shadow Brush. This brush is also a nice surprise because it's not your usual flat shadow brush but more of a compromise between a crease brush and a blending brush - bit of an all rounder!

 Barbara Daly Lip/Concealer Brush

And last but not least - the good old fashioned Barbara Daly Eyebrow Brush & comb.

I give this set (and the surprising price I got them for!) a big thumbs up. So happy to have these brushes added to my ever-growing collection.

Day -To-Evening Make Up Look

1st Professional Make Up Application!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I was up and about early as I had been asked by my auntie and my cousin to do their make up for a ball they are going to. I'm trying to branch out a little more now when it comes to make up and will snatch up any opportunity to practice make up on other people. I'm really hoping that something kicks off in make up as a career as it's one thing I love doing so I thought this sort of thing would be a great starting point until I find other ways of getting my name out there.

I'm planning to post up more of the make up looks I do as the weeks go on and see if and how a client list builds (here's hoping!). This is the look I did on my cousin, Rebecca, it's a soft day-to-evening look which consists on a flawless, fresh base with clean eye make up and an overall beautiful soft haze.

I used bronze/golds/browns for her eyes to bring out that beautiful blue colour she has.

I lightly filled in her brows with a fair pencil to add a natural look as her brows were already a lovely shape.

Using the pink lip shade works a treat with her skin tone and compliments the eye shadows and the pinky blusher on her cheeks.

It's so much fun practicing make up and seeing what works and what doesn't and if you make a mistake all you can do is look at it as a step forward because you are learning all the time. I hope you like this look - feel free to leave any comments with your opinions!

8-in1 Nudes from Avon

Beautiful Nudes

Hello everyone! I'm going to share this product with you now before I have even tried it because I just get a little bit excited with new make up, especially when it arrives through the door (it literally came this morning) - I feel I have to rave about it. So here is it, the little beauty - It's Avon's 8-in-1 eye shadow palette in 'The Nudes'.

Let's be honest, we can't go wrong when it comes to neutral shade shadows (and we can never have too many), they are the essence of eye make up and an all round beauty must have. I find I've been using nude shades in my everyday make up look recently because they are so good for enhancing your eyes and creating different looks while being so easy to use.

So far I've only tested the pigment out on my hand - see in the photo below - but seems as good as any. I've heard of a few people who've had this palette before and think it's great so I jumped on the bandwagon and am now giving it a go.

Most of the shades are matte with a few shimmery (a light shade and a medium)

3 Nail Designs!

Nail Art

Since I started back at college after Christmas, Friday mornings have been all about the nail art and practicing lots nail designs. I find nail art quite addictive because once you start with a couple of designs you can't help but try to come up with others and I find myself desperate to try them out. I didn't realize there's so many different methods of painting nails but it definitely makes glamming up those talons a bit more creative and exciting.

Below are a few of the most recent ones I did over the last week or so. Takes a steady hand and plenty of practice without a doubt but it's good fun at the same time.

This is actually what's on my nails today - quite a simple look using a lovely deep red (Sally Hansen's Red Hot 58) and 3 rhinestones down the finger and middle finger only.

A little bit more technical, the daisy chain. I think this design is so cute and perfect for Spring. I did this look for my first assessment after starting back.

This one I did on Friday taking inspiration from other glittery nail designs I seen online. I just used glitter near the cuticle and yes, more gems to add sparkle... Lovely for a weekend/evening look on your nails.

Hello The New Shoes

The Platforms!

A little post for you today sharing this new pair of shoes I bought from New Look at couple of weeks ago. I actually spotted them in the sale of the the 'generation' section (which I think is technically the children's section) and with my feet being 7 I was surprised to find my size.

They were reduced from £24.99 to £7 so there was no chance I was leaving them in the shop!

Are they your style? They weren't mine for a long time after they started to become popular and I always said you wouldn't find me wearing them. I kind of looked at them as being a bit boyish with a silly big soul on them. But hey, my opinion obviously changed and here they are...a pair of platform shoes that I have grown to love. They're so versatile and easy to wear with whatever. And can I just add, how cute is the leopard print on the inside? How cute.

Stay beautiful and Happy shopping,

My Favourite Mascara

L'Oreal Miss Manga

Yes, I think I've finally found a mascara that's just right. You know that way when you're searching for a long time for just the right type of product that suits you? Well I've been that way with mascara for a long time and now have come across one that does everything right.

I posted a photo of this a little while ago but after trying it out properly for a few weeks, I can now say, it is fab!

Got to say that I love the black and pink packaging too, very pretty indeed.

Great brush! Packed with little bristles which are loaded with product, this brush coats pretty much every lash, even those tiny little ones in the corner that are a right pain sometimes.
I've just teamed it with my everyday eye look which is a brown smokey eye and a bit of black liner at the outer corner.

Overall totally loving this little gem of a product and would definitely recommend it.
