Falsif-EYE Mascara

New Name and Joining The Rave

Good morning to you again everyone! You may have noticed that I've change the name of my blog from 'LoveIsReal Beauty' to simply 'Ellen Rennie Make Up'. I thought I'd change it to something a bit more straight forward so that it's easier to find etc. I'm still going to use the name 'LoveIsReal' on occasions - maybe just due to being sentimental I don't know!

Anyway, more to the point - I'm joining the rave of this new mascara from Boot's Seventeen. I bought it a little while ago when it was at in introductory price and have been trying it over the past few days and I have to say I'm really impressed.

With the skinny brush you can really get in to coat every lash especially at the corners. It seems to separate your lashes very evenly after just the one coat, then volume and thickness can be added with the more coats you apply. I'm really happy with it and would definitely buy again. You've got to love beautiful lashes!

Before And After

Good morning everyone! We have been totally blessed with good weather recently and sunshine is one thing that makes me super happy. I think it just lifts everyone's moods and changes their demeanor.  It's good to see people going around in shorts and tank tops because it is practically unheard of in Britain, even during the Summer.

But, weather aside for the moment. Last Saturday I did my friend, Megan's, make up before she went out for the evening. I'm trying to get as much practice in as possible so it was a great opportunity as it's good to 'make up' different face shapes, skin tones and complexions.

After consulting with Megan which colours she would like, we decided to go for neutral tones as she doesn't usually wear much eyeshadow so we didn't want to go over-the-top.

Primed, then based (usuing a light foundation), I then used a brownish mauve shade for her eyes, which also helps to bring out the blue, and blended this in at the outer corners with a darker brown which I also brought a third of the way in on her bottom lash line, followed by black liner on her top lash line and plenty of black mascara.
I used a pink blusher on Megan's fair skin to give her a little glow.
On the lips is a simple just very pretty nude pink gloss which is easy to touch up as the night goes on.

I'm glad to say that Megan was very happy with her make up and very excited as she had never had it done for her before.

Lilac Shine

Purple and lilac are at the top of the list in my favourite eye shadow shades, I love it how they can be dramatic or toned down to suit. The look I did here is the basic smokey eye concept, like the bronze/brown in my previous post.
These shades are good for bringing out greens in your eye. Really, I never knew how much green I had in my eyes until I started wearing these colours.

I have to say, a pair of false lashes also does wonders for this look!

On my eyes today - And....

Pretty girly things!

Hello everyone! Today has been a bit of a strange one weather-wise, rain - sun - rain - thunder - sun. Typical UK weather I suppose. But I thought I'd share my eye make up look I did today.

I've not been very adventurous recently with my make up and I feel a little bad about it. The look I did today is just a simple bronzey/brown smokey day look which is perfect for some not so over-the-top prettiness.

It's so easy to create this with any shades, all you need is a light base colour, a nice medium shade (I used a gold shade from my Evie Mai palette) for your whole lid and a darker shade to enhance your socket. I was dying to try out my new Collection black Gel Liner as well so that's what I have lined my eyes with.

Also, just for a bit of fun...here's my new mug which I bought whilst doing a bit of shopping with my mum this morning, isn't it just the sweetest? I have totally fallen in love with it. Plenty of cups of tea to come in that!

Planet Spa Mini Pedi Set Review

Beautiful Soft Feet!

So I got this little set from Avon last week and thought I'd give it a spin yesterday while I was soaking my feet. I soaked my feet for about 5 minutes before patting them dry and applying the foot scrub (couldn't not to my hands too with this delightful stuff!), it felt so lovely with my feet being slightly damp. Soaked my feet again for another 10 minutes or so and tidied up my cuticles before drying them and using the moisturizer. The 'African shia butter' scent in this little set it really to die for and I wish I could explain it to you but it's one you'd have to smell for yourself.

The set online is only at £3 which is just incredible...it's available on the website here - along with other's from the Planet Spa range. Absolutely bliss! Almost felt guilty while I was doing this mini pedi!
