Highlight of my Day

How cute is...

I have been in desperate need of a highlight eye shadow for the past few months and have had to compromise with what I have in my kit. Although the shadows I have been using do count as highlighters, they are almost all matte so I wanted something  little different. I went shopping and came across this as I passed the Bourjois stand and instantly though "I need this." 

It's such a perfect pinky/beige colour. I'm wearing today as a mono shadow (it really does look beautiful on it's own). I'm wearing it with winged liner for simplicity. Such a subtle shimmer but it makes a huge difference.

Excuse the quality of the last 3 photographs. I had to take these on my phone but actually I think they kind of bright out the shimmer!

New Make Up Brushes.

What the Postman brought.

These lovely new make up brushes arrived though the door yesterday and it completely made my day. They are Jessup brushes, four face, and four eye brushes which I bought on Ebay for around £13...bargain. They are the amazing dupes of Real Techniques brushes.

 I couldn't open the parcel quick enough! As you can probably see by the colour of it, I've already had a little tester of the flat top foundation brush and it's absolutely fab. All the face brushes feel amazing and very soft on my face. I was really surprised at the quality of these brushes so I just had to share it with you.

I think these really just show you that there are bargains to be found and you don't have to spend so much on single brushes. I am really happy with these brushes, they get a big thumbs up from me and I can't wait to use them more and more.

To Love and Respect

It is so important to do what you want to do in life, the things that make you happy and the things that make you stand out from the crowd. Try to figure out how to make things work in your life without getting stressed... I'm trying to teach myself to take each new day as it comes, be thankful for it and to wait and see what it brings without making plans for everything. Realize it's important to respect yourself, make the most of the things you are good at and the things you enjoy even if others don't appreciate it. After all, at the end of the day, you are yourself with your own body and your own mind. 

I love make up, beauty, fashion, photography and editing photos. I do most of it for fun now whilst trying to make something of myself whether it's modelling clothes or make up etc, but it took a lot of confidence-building to share my photos in my posts for the first time. I say it's worth a leap of faith.

Accessorize Rings

Ring Bling

Recently I have grown to love rings. I've always liked rings and think they look amazing on and add lots of elegance to fingers but I just found them awkward to wear somehow.  But I was being bold last week and went out and bought these chunky gold rings off of a Monsoon gift voucher I was given for my birthday and I have totally fallen in love. My favourite is the index finger ring. The aqua blue stone is gorgeous too.

Bronze And Gold Eyes

 It's all in the eyes.

A bronze and gold smokey eye with white shimmer highlight under the brow. This was a look I practiced in college this week and I really enjoyed playing around with the shadows and trying out some major highlight. I think these shades work so well for darker skin tone so I asked my friend Kimberley, who is a few shades darker than me to be the model for this look. I kept the rest of the make up quite subtle with a flawless base, light pink blusher and a nude lip colour. What do you think?

Look Of The Day

Loving Lilac 

My outfit, make up, nails and accessories of the day. I can't resist a bit of purple/lilac in my life, it's one of my favourite colours and today I went all out. It was a half lazy day look so my hair is thrown up in a ballet dancer style bun with a slouchy top to be comfortable in while looking decent!

My nails are a nude/lilac shade finished off with a mattifying top coat.

My make up is all the about the eyes with a mauvey smokey eye and black liquid liner, pretty!

Midi rings aren't usually one of my go-to pieces but I felt like a little change today and I actually think they look really elegant.

Two Words - Make Up.

 Make Up Frenzy!

There's nothing more I enjoy in the world than spending my time down the make up isles looking for the next cosmetic purchase I can make. To be honest, if I could spend all the money I ever earned on make up that's exactly what I would do. It is my passion and I'll never let anyone tell me otherwise! 

I also love looking for a bargain and think it's absolutely OK to pick up a cheap piece that looks good - there's nothing to lose if it doesn't meet your expectations...at least you've tried!

I went shopping with my mum on Monday past and of course we headed straight on into Primark and these somehow just jumped right on out at me and landed in my basket (oh well, I said). I have seen these before and wanted to nab them up so that's what I did.

Primark's 8-shadow palettes in Day and Night for only £2.50 each.

I also picked up Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation in shade 125 Nude Beige to try out. First time I've bought this after hearing good reviews on it. So far I'm really pleased with this foundation. Lovely texture and it lasts all day and doesn't dry out my skin.

I've not yet tried out the eyeshadows but I'm hoping they are decent, going by the shades I think I'll like them anyway!
